“The world of this game is dark, oppressive, practically devoid of life and hope.”ĭarkness predominates in the environments we went through, but there is a lot of decorative expressiveness. Among the few signs of life in this world are Mono – a new character we control – and Six – the little girl in the yellow jacket from the first game that now watches us. The world of this game is dark, oppressive, practically devoid of life and hope. Forget the joy, the smiles, the comic characters and everything else. Little Nightmares 2 is the complete opposite. The platform genre is very much associated with colorful scenarios and cheerful characters (Super Mario, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Donkey Kong, etc.). There is no greater proof of the quality of a game than to be craving for more and it is precisely this effect that Tarsier Studios achieves. The ending leaves more questions than answers, and although it can be a little frustrating (because we are so involved in this universe), we look forward to more. It’s one of the few games in recent times that, after finishing, left me with my head spinning.

I don’t want to hide that I really liked Little Nightmares 2. Everything that made the first game a little pearl is present in the sequel, with the addition of even better production values, fine-tuned gameplay, larger scale levels, and a story without a narrator and lines that can get us into this bizarre, dark world and oppressive. The first was a relatively small game and so it may seem that the sequel had an excessively long production period, but it was worth the wait. Despite being a first remarkable flight to a studio that hadn’t created anything of its own, there was clearly room for improvement.Īlmost four years later, Tarsier launches this week – on February 11th – the Little Nightmares 2 sequel. Like a little bird that has to wait until it can launch itself from the nest to start flying, Tarsier waited for the right moment and took flight. Until that time, it was a practically unknown name, serving merely as a support studio for Media Molecule (the creators of LittleBigPlanet and most recent of Dreams).

The first Little Nightmares proved to be a pleasant little surprise and showed the creative value of Tarsier Studios as a producer. In Little Nightmares 2, a chilling, surprising and immersive game awaits you. Little Nightmares 2 review – Little big nightmaresīetter than the first at all.
